India Urban Conference 2011

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), in partnership with the South Asian Studies Council at Yale University and Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy (JCCD) is organising the India Urban Conference: Evidence and Experience (IUC) as a counterpart to the series of international conferences on Urban India beginning in April 2011.

The IUC is a series of events designed to raise the salience of urban challenges and opportunities in the ongoing debate of India’s development.

Dr. Jyoti Hosagrahar will be attending the conference as a panalist in Mysore. This conference is to be held from 17 November to 20 November, 2011, is designed to bring together state and local policy makers, policy implementers, academics, students, civil society, and industry stakeholders to identify challenges and chart strategies for India’s urban development. The conference explicitly seeks to engage urban residents and practitioners in the discussion in order to develop a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the current context and priorities moving forward. Its themes include Urban Economy and Urban Social Services along with the previous ones.
